About Carolina kinfolk

When I was a child, most of Mother's family were buried in White Bluff Bapt. Ch. Cem.There were a lot of them with rocks for Headstones and Mother knew who was under each one. Not only did she know, but she felt it her duty to pass this information on. She led Verna and Me around the Cem. and pointed outeach one. She would say,"Now this is where your Great-Grandfather, Marion is buried and this is where your Great-Grandmother, Margaret is buried. Now don't forget." And I tried, really I did. [at the time, Verna didn't care who was under what rock. She just knew it was hot out there and there was a nice shade tree beside the Church.] When I became a young man, I once again became a member of White Bluff and like my Mother, I developed the habit of walking the Graveyard and paying my respects. I found that my Mother had taught me a reverence for Cemeteries and a respect for family, but I confess, I still don't know who is under what rock. That's when my genealogy quest began to ferment. I guess the thinking is, I can't show them to you but I can tell you about them. When I became interested in Genealogy, I tried to get Verna to share my enthusiasm but found to my dismay that she still didn't care who was under which rock. It took about ten years to get her interested, but when she finally came around she was off and running. I've been trying to keep up ever since. Without Verna, all of my work would be a few pagesof wrinkled paper in a drawer somewhere. She is the one that keeps me motivated and organized, not to mention doing most of the actual typing. As I find myself in my twilight years, my big sister still has me by the hand and is leading the way. And I wouldn't have it any other way. Here you will find the Families of Gladys Almetta Payne and Clarence Edgar Robinson, plus the surnames of the people their families married into. I hope you will find the information interesting and helpful. I'm sure there are some mistakes on this site, so I urge you to seek confirmation of the information here. I also urge you to notify me when you find mistakes so that I can make corrections immediately.
